Happy Birthday Shaylee!

Wow! I cannot believe that it has been a full month since Shaylee's birthday and I have not posted pictures or anything on here. I was so excited for the big day and then I think I just got really tired once it was over and totally spaced posting pictures! Shaylee had a great birthday! I got the house all decorated the night before so that I wouldn't have to worry about it the day of. And thank goodness I did. I do not know where the day went but it went way too fast. Shaylee and I went in to Shem's work so that we could have lunch with daddy! And we even got to have Uncle Glen join us too. Shaylee had her first taste of peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich and she loved it! When she had her first bite she got a huge smile on her face. It was hilarious. After lunch we headed back home and Shaylee feel asleep in the car and when I brought her in and put her in her crib to finish her nap she thought nap time was over! Some how she finally feel back asleep. We had Grandma and Grandpa Wagoner over for dinner. We had waffles, scrambled eggs, hash browns and apple juice. Shaylee loves waffles and pancakes we I decided to do that so she could actually have some of her birthday dinner. After dinner we had family come over for cake and ice cream. Shaylee had a blast! My mom helped me (thank goodness!) put together the Hippo cake and also the smash cake. I thought it turned out pretty cute. Yes the nostrils are a lopsided but that is the way they turned out! Shaylee didn't really eat any cake. She was very clean about the whole thing, which really surprised me. I know every parent says this but it truly hard to believe how fast this year went. Those first few months took their sweet time but once Shaylee and I both got adjusted to our new life time just took off. Shem and I couldn't feel more blessed to have this sweet girl in our home and as our daughter. She has quite the personality and each day we are still amazed at the miracle that she is. We love being parents even on the bad days! We wouldn't trade her for anything. She is our strong willed, independent little girl that we love so much! Thanksgiving and Christmas...

I decided I better get pictures and a little update posted on Thanksgiving and Christmas before the big 1st birthday next month!!! Still can't believe she will be a year next month. Once we made it through those first few months time just flew by! So our Thanksgiving and Christmas were awesome! We stayed home for both and it was so nice to be home on Christmas morning for Shaylee's first one. Shaylee is doing awesome. I am happy to report that she finally doesn't cry during bath time! Fingers crossed that it stays like that. We have had 3 straight bath times without crying. It sure makes it a whole lot easier! She also got her first hair cut last week! She got an inch taken off the top and probably 1.5-2 inches off the bottom. And she still has a ton of hair! How many 10 month old babies get hair cuts and get that much taken off and still have a ton?! Shaylee also took her first steps on December 21st. The day she got a new cousin! And if I remember correctly wasn't that the day the world was suppose to end? So I guess in a way it did for us! Although she hasn't really been interested in walking all that much. That is until this past week. She has really stepped it up and it taking a lot more steps. Her preferred mode of transportation is still crawling (or being carried in mommy's arms!) but I am pretty sure by her birthday it will be walking. She also LOVES horsey rides on her daddy's back! If he is home you can be guaranteed that she is patting him on the back trying to get a ride around the house. And you can tell the minute she gets taken off. She will cry and cry! Her daddy has even started galloping with her on his back and she loves that! We also went out on the first snow fall and Shem made a little snowman for Shaylee. Such a good daddy!
